The Commission shall make provisions on the establishment of a scientific panel of independent experts intended to support the enforcement activities under this Regulation by means of an implementing act.

Obligation 2
The Commission shall select experts for the scientific panel who possess up-to-date scientific or technical expertise in AI, are independent from AI system providers, and can carry out activities diligently, accurately, and objectively.

Obligation 3
The Commission, in consultation with the Board, shall determine the number of experts on the panel in accordance with required needs and ensure fair gender and geographical representation.

Obligation 4
The scientific panel shall advise and support the AI Office regarding the implementation and enforcement of the Regulation, including alerting on systemic risks, developing evaluation tools, and advising on classification.

The scientific panel shall support the work of market surveillance authorities at their request and support cross-border market surveillance activities.
