Common specifications for high-risk AI systems and GPAI models

The Commission may adopt implementing acts to establish common specifications for high-risk AI systems or general-purpose AI models when harmonised standards are not delivered, insufficient, or non-compliant with fundamental rights concerns. These specifications are developed in consultation with the advisory forum and adopted via an examination procedure. Compliance with these common specifications creates a presumption of conformity with relevant requirements. Providers must justify equivalent compliance if they do not follow the specifications. The Commission may repeal or amend common specifications if harmonised standards later meet the requirements.
